Density testing provides valuable information about the composition and uniformity of a plastic material and is a key physical property of polyethylene and other plastics.

Impact Solutions is a UKAS-accredited testing laboratory (No. 0402) that can undertake density measurements according to ISO 1183 standards. Our accreditation means that our results are accepted as an expert standard and can, depending on your specific product, be used to pursue CE or other markings in conjunction with other testing.

The density of plastics varies significantly from one sample to another due to the partial crystallisation of the polymers in the solid state.  This unique characteristic yields a different degree of crystallinity and consequently different densities.
