ASTM D5748 Testing

ASTM D5748 standard test method determines the resistance of a stretch wrap film to the penetration of a probe at a standard low rate. Performed at standard conditions, the test method involves a biaxial stress that is representative of the type of stress encountered in many product end-use applications.This test determines the maximum force, the energy needed to break the stretch wrap film, the penetration distance and the force when the film breaks.

A minimum of five specimens is required of each sample.
